There is nothing worse than starting a show or movie and realize you’re now committed to watch it through to the end, when its actually completely average.
I am often spend over half an hour deciding on a movie and often end up picking something I’ve already seen 15 times (most likely What Happens in Vegas of Princess Diaries). So if you’re blessed enough to have a Netflix account, or a friend with one (if not, seriously its 2017 join the club) here are 10 great tv shows and movies.

FILM: The Big Short (2015)
I actually watched this movie TWICE last month because I enjoyed it that much. I was 14 when the housing market crash in the US / worldwide recession hit and I remember it, but had no idea what happened. This movie is really really interesting, but not in a lame educational way, its funny and clever and true and an actual good watch.

TV: The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015-)
One of the Netflix originals I have seriously got amongst. I watched the first season in one go, the theme song is probably my favourite one ever, its pretty much a big fat tablespoon of girl power, empowerment and lols.

FILM: Overboard (1987)
My mum introduced me to this goodness years ago because she loves Goldie Hawn (aka Kate Hudsons mumma) and its recently become part of the Netflix family. They don’t make’em like this anymore honestly. Its just an all round awesome rom com with more com than rom. If you like this please go watch First Wives Club, The Money Pit & Undercover Blues, immediately.

TV: Touch (2012-2013)
I watched the first season on TV back in 2012 and was crazy about it. Its hard to compare it to anything else because its so unique. An emotionally challenged boy who can kind of predict the future. Its clever, emotional, has pretty much something for everyone and is just a really well made 2 season series.

FILM: What a Girl Wants (2003)
I’ve seen this movie so many times because in 2003 I wanted to be Amanda Bynes. Think She’s the Man meets Princess Diaries. Granted this movie came out when I was 9 so I was bound to fall in love with it, I honestly know the whole thing off by heart. But it’s a great make you feel good movie, and will also make you want to travel to London.

TV: Jane the Virgin (2014-)
A bit Ugly Betty-esque but set in this decade. Its clever, modern, funny, filled with a classic love triangle, mystery and drama. It also has the best voice over dude, who keeps you up to speed with the complicated storyline and character relationships, and flash backs. I reckon its one you won’t be able to stop watching.

FILM: The Terminal (2004)
Warning this movie is pretty sad – but also wonderful. If you love Tom Hanks (and honestly how could you not) you can’t miss the Terminal. Tom Hanks is stranded in JFK airport and chills there, and you cry. Watch it with a friend, and I promise you’ll have cute inside jokes about this movie forever.

TV: The Santa Clarita Diet (2017-)
Do not watch this after eating. Kind of a Bad Moms (the 2016 movie) vibe, funny, typical family – but in areal way, not picture perfect. A real estate agent mum becomes a zombie, but also a super mum.

FILM: Back to the Future 1, 2 & 3 (1985-1990)
You’ve probably seen them all before, but you may not have watched them recently. I sat down with my man and had a marathon a few weeks back and it was a great. You can watch all 3 in under 6 hours so its not as crazy as trying to do a Lord of the Rings or Star Wars marathon, and each movie starts off exactly the moment where the other finished which is pretty cool.

TV: Designated Survivor (2016-)
I’m not usually a big fan of politics - crime scene – president – FBI - threats to the USA kinda shows, they honestly just feel pretty overdone and they kind of all blend together for me. But I started watching this around the time of the 2016 presidential elections and really got addicted. Pretty much a guy becomes President when a catastrophic attack kills everyone above him in the presidential line of succession.
